We are very lucky to have a fantastic Forest School site at the Spinney Day Nursery Hoole in Chester.
It is a great natural environment, abundant in wildlife and a great place for children to learn and explore, whilst experiencing all the lovely benefits of Forest School.
We have been providing Forest School for many years, with the children at the Spinney Bell Meadow using the Forest School over at our sister nursery – the Spinney Day Nursery Hoole. Although this has been a wonderful way to experience it, we felt that it would be beneficial to have their own site closer to their nursery.
For the past year, we have been working extremely hard to create a unique woodlandsite that can be easily accessed from the Spinney Day Nursery Bell Meadow Nursery.
Opening January 2023!
This January, we have the exciting news that the site is finally up and running! It is a great space that holds a host of exciting opportunities for the children to continue to experience the benefits of Forest School.
Each week, the Pre School children will enjoy their sessions in the woods and we hope to introduce the Toddlers to the site in the future too.
Our Forest School Leader, Rhiannon, says “Having the new Forest School up and running is very exciting as it provides another unique environment or the children that provides a holistic approach to learning and development. It will be wonderful to see the children foster a connection with nature on the new site. The children have already come up with ideas as to what they wold like to see in the Forest School so it continues to support and encourage child-led development and we can’t wait to see how it grows”.

We will still visit the woodland site at the Spinney Day Nursery Hoole, so the children will be able to experience different natural environments which supports their early years development.
