The Spinney Hoole babies have had a wonderful time this morning playing outside in the sunshine with a very special activity. Inspired by the Hindu Holi Festival, where people celebrate the arrival of spring with music, dancing and throwing an array of different coloured powder paint, the Baby Room Nursery Nurses created their own colourful powder for the babies to throw around.
The powder was made from cornflour and food colouring so was safe for the babies to use and they had a great time throwing it up in the air and mixing all the colours. They even wore little white vests over their outdoor playsuits so they could create colourful patterns by wiping the powder on them.
They really enjoyed throwing the powder everywhere and watching it fall through their little hands, which is great for their fine motor skill development. They all seemed fascinated when they began to mix all the different colours together to create new colours too!
This lovely activity filled with colours was the fantastic idea of our fantastic Baby Room Nursery Nurses, and it was lovely to watch the babies have such a great experience with the activity whilst sat outside in the fresh air.
