As the sun shines and the school children get ready to finish for their summer holidays it marks both a happy and sad time for the Spinney Day Nurseries.

This time of year we begin to say good bye to our pre-schoolers who will be leaving nursery to start at Primary School in September. Having watched them grow into confident, happy children who are ready for the next chapter of their learning journey it is always incredibly sad to say good bye, but we are proud, happy and excited for them as they take their next step.

We always like to have a Leavers Trip for those heading off to school in September so this week the children from both the Spinney Day Nursery Hoole & Bell Meadow went to the Candle Workshop & Cheshire Ice Cream Farm. Here are some photos of their day out and as you can see, they all had a fantastic time!

The Spinney Day Nursery Hoole

Due to the Pre school at the Spinney Hoole being rather large and so all the children could go on the trip, we went twice to the Candle Workshop & Ice cream Farm!

The first group went on the Monday and though the weather was a tad wet they had a fantastic time painting candle holders and making their very own wax candles.

While they were waiting their turn they also got to make a badge, with a design of their choice!

After an indoors picnic lunch they set off to the Ice Cream Farm to play and have a well deserved ice cream!

On the Friday it was the second group’s turn and instead of making a candle they decorated their own pottery animal that they chose themselves.

There were octopuses, horses, butterflies and unicorns to name a few and the children decorated them beautifully as they concentrated very hard while they were painting.

As the weather was so good they were able to play on the outdoor play area whilst their pottery dried before heading to the park for a picnic in the sunshine.

After they had all eaten their packed lunch they set off for the Cheshire Ice Cream where they had a delicious ice cream for their desert!

Spinney Day Nursery Bell Meadow

The sun certainly shone on the Spinney Bell Meadow Pre School trip too as they went to the Candle Workshop where they made their own candles, by slecting the two colours and carefully dipping the wick in and out of the wax!

Once they had finished making them, they headed out doors to play on the outdoor area in the sunshine, running about and having a great time!

After working up their appetite playing they enjoyed a picnic lunch before maing their way to the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm for dessert!

Even with a belly full of ice cream it did not deter the children from taking to the play area for one last play before it was time to head back to nursery.

It was another fantastic trip and was amazing to see the children having so much fun with their Spinney friends!

We wish all the Pre School children at the Spinney Bell Meadow & Hoole all the best as they start school in September and hope we will see them again at the Spinney Breakfast, After School or Holiday Club in the future!
