What a beautiful, sunny day we had for the Easter Holiday’s return of the Spinney Adventurers Club!

The sun shone brightly and Spinney Adventurers Club had a busy day as they returned to help the Mystical Woodland Folk protect the Magic Woods and wildlife!

This time their quest was to return a magic wand to the well-known and much loved Wizard, Autrio, who had unfortunate left it in the Magic Woods a couple of weeks before. He had been visiting the Mystical Woodland Folk to show them some new spells that would help the plants and flowers grow strong after the long winter. As he walked through the woods he say the Destroyers in the distance and went to hide in the hollow of a tree, for the Destroyers did not like Autrio as his magic spells stopped them destroying the natural world. Whilst he was hiding, his magic wand fell from his pocket without him realising and he then left the woods without it.

Fortunately one of the Mystical Woodland Folk found the wand and asked the Spinney Adventurers to travel to the Faraway Forest where Autrio and his fellow wizards lived, to return it safely to him.

Therefore, with the Magic Wand in their protection they set off to the woods!

The Spinney Adventurers had a great time as they explored the Faraway Woods, finding all the different coloured flowers and the very popular Wild Garlic.

They searched for all the different types of insects that lived there and were chuffed to find beetles, millipedes, woodlouse, Ladybirds and spiders. They also loved crossing the shallow stream either on the stepping-stones or by walking through in their wellies.

When it got to mid-day, they decided to stop for lunch near to the forest maze and den building area. Here they enjoyed lunch in the fresh air, played games and made dens.

As they walked beside the river they all had a game of Pooh Stocks where they threw in small sticks and watched them race against each other.

After a lovely day in the Faraway Woods, it was time to find the place where Autrio and the Wizards met at dusk to swop stories and discuss new spells. Here at their seated area seemed a great place to leave the magic wand, so the Spinney Adventurers did just that having completed their quest whilst having a truly fantastic day!
