It has been a brilliant day in the Magic Woods as the Spinney Adventurers continued to help the Mystical Woodland Folk by completing a variety of tasks. Firstly they got into four groups where each ‘Tribe’ had to think of a tribe name and create a banner with it on. They came up with some brilliant names such as ‘Woodshavers’ the ‘Wolves’, the ‘Foxy Loxys’ & the ‘Woodland Warriors’.

Once the Tribes were ready they took it in turns to do a range of tasks including the ‘Spinney Woodland Olympics’ which involved the Adventurers taking part in Toadstool Hoopla, Tree baskets (nature’s version of Basket ball!) Welly throwing & Woodland Croquet! This was a lot of fun and the tribes did really well working together as a team.

Another task was more of a mental challenge as they played the ‘Nature Memory Match’ where they each took it turns to try and find a matching pair by turning over the cards and trying to memorise the matching pair. Next up they had to put their detective hats on and try and find the missing animals in the woods, before getting all creative on the ‘Photography Hunt’ where they had a list of things to find in the woods and take a photo of to complete the task. They all did a fantastic job and managed to completed each part before it was time to move on to the next task.

Once again the Mystical Woodland Folk asked the Spinney Adventurers for help and this time they actually got to meet one of them! Their challenge was to get the Mystical Woodland Folk across the Magic Woods without him falling in the Stinky Bog. It was their job to think of ways to get them through the trees with the items they had been left, and down to the finish point. It wasn’t long before the tribes had successfully completed the task having built a zip wire, ladder and tree creeper to climb. Once tested with a run through it was time to get the Mystical Woodland Folk across and you could almost hear them shout ‘weeeee’ as they flew down the zip wire!

After a quick break for lunch in the Nest, it was back to the tasks which included creating Stick Creatures & Tree Gargoyles to scare away the Destroyers if they ever came in to the Magic Woods. These were absolutely fantastic and the Adventurers had really thought about their designs and used a wide range of thing found in the woods to make them. For more photos on the Spinney

With all the tasks complete and a job well done, there was just one more thing they had to do. In their Tribes they were each given a ‘Nature Quiz’ which tested them on what they had learnt so far in the Spinney Adventurers and their knowledge of British Wildlife. They all did a really good job but the winners were the Woodland Warriors who got the most questions right!

After a busy, fun and successful day adventuring, it was back to the Spinney Holiday Club for a well deserved rest and a lovely dinner! Well done Spinney Adventurers, you have helped save the woods again!
