Why it’s beneficial for your child to attend Pre School

By the time the children join our Spinney Pre School the children are ready for more structured play because they are now being prepared for school.

All the children’s social and emotional development is built on a trusting relationship with the team who lead our Pre School Room. They recognise the particular needs of the children and understand how to adapt the EYFS for them.

Pre School is good for strengthening social skills by providing a place where the child can gain sense of self-worth, explore, play with their peers and build confidence. They discover that they are capable and can do things like pouring their own drink, laying the table and serving their own foods, along with how they spend their free time and what activities they choose.

Friendships are made with their peers at the Spinney. The children are not only exposed to numbers, letters and shapes, but more importantly they learn how to socialise and get along with other children. Our Pre School children learn to share, take turns and contribute at circle time.

In Pre School their knowledge and understanding of the world is developing as they are at the age where they are starting to ask questions. Pre School helps the children to answers to their questions through exploration, experimentation and conversation.

At the Spinney Day Nursery we promote language by having a language rich environment. The Pre School Nursery Nurses ask thought-provoking questions through science, art, snack and lunch time and other activities. Children have many opportunities to (we all love Frozen), talk to each other, read books and act our stories.

The Nursery Nurses have a warm, trusting loving way that nurtures all of the children and they build trusting relationships with both them and their parents. The most amazing part of Pre School is that the Nursery Nurses not only promote the Early Year’s Foundation Stage but make sure that they children have a fun-filled day.
