Reopening of the Spinney Day Nurseries – June 2020
We kindly inform you that the Spinney Day Nursery Bell Meadow will reopen on Monday 1st June, following the closure of both settings in adherence to the nationwide Government Guidance regarding Covid-19 in March.
We have spent a huge amount of time following Government guidance, incorporating Policies and Procedures and Risk Assessments, in order to minimise the risk of transmission and spread of Covid-19 whilst also ensuring the nursery is a safe, fun, caring and nurturing environment for the Spinney children, staff and parents.
These processes, policies and procedures have been communicated to both our Spinney Staff and parents via email last week, to provide the information and provide peace of mind.
One of our aims is for the children to spend as much time outside in the fresh air. With this in mind, we have created ‘Learning Environments’ outside where the children can play.
We understand that, with the nursery age group, adhering to the 2m social distancing will be extremely difficult – as recognised in various Government and DfE publications.
We aim to have the children in small groups with a member of staff, with each group exercising social distancing between them. There will be a strict hygiene regime and regular cleaning of resources used throughout the day to minimise risk.
We feel that it is of extreme importance to consider the well-being of both the children and staff, so we would like to assure you that we will make this as positive an experience for them as we can.
In the nursery Outdoor Area, we have erected marquees to provide sheltered areas where the children can take part in activities and use resources to support their learning and development.
So that you have a visual idea of this we have created a short video where we will talk through how we have planned and ways we intend to use the Outdoor Area for the Learning Environments at each nursery.
The Spinney Day Nursery Hoole
On the lawn, we have erected marquees to provide sheltered areas where the children can take part in activities and use resources. In addition, the children will also have access to our other outdoor areas such as the Outdoor Area, Growing Garden, Secret Forest and Forest School.
The Spinney Day Nursery Bell Meadow
We have erected marquees in the Pre School and Toddler Outdoor areas where the children can access resources and take part in activities. The Babies have access to the soft, astroturf lawned area with the Spinney Castle providing a shaded area for them.
In adverse weather, we will use the indoor space which we have also set up in a way that considers guidance whilst continuing to provide a positive experience for the staff, children and their development
We look forward to seeing the Spinney children that are returning soon.
We will also continue to stay in touch with our Spinney Families who are not returning right away through our ‘Keeping Connected’ initiative that we have been running whilst the nursery has been closed.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Spinney families for their continued support!
On behalf of us all at the Spinney Day Nursery Ltd, we would like to thank the fantastic NHS and Key workers that have worked so hard throughout this difficult time. 🌈❤️
